Witness

Witness · Luminous Prosperity Inc.

Hosted git that witnesses
everything you make.

A repository is a record of a mind changing over time. We keep that record the way a registrar keeps a deed — hashed, signed, quadruple-timestamped, and preserved in its original form, so that when it matters you can show your work instead of asserting it.

What it is
The repository

Everything you make, on the record

$29.99 a month

Import from GitHub in one click and the whole thing comes across — every repository, every commit, every year of it. From that moment forward each change is hashed, signed, and put under four independent attestations. Every app is tasted, given a callsign and a motto and a crest of its own, granted a sandboxed test mode, and made eligible for the market.

The dossier

A thorough reading of what you have built

$99 a repository · $999 a collection

A scan of everything in a repository that may be protectable, documented in plain language with artwork, and cited to the files it came from. Non-binding, and explicitly not legal advice — it says so in the running header of every page, and it ends by telling you to take it to a lawyer. What it does establish, cryptographically, is what existed on a given date. Enterprise, we'll talk.

The payload

One encrypted link for a beta tester

$99 a month, a repository

Hand somebody your work without handing it over. The bundle is encrypted with a key that never touches our servers — we hold ciphertext we cannot read. You choose what can be seen and what can be copied, and every open is recorded: who, from where, for how long. That record is the part that makes a leak attributable.

A fresh tasting

When the work has moved

$30

Requisition a new pour whenever it has changed enough to deserve one. A new note, a re-examined callsign, three fresh valuations, and the whole thing hashtagged and quadruple-timestamped at inception — so what the house thought of it, and when, is fixed.

The market

Sell it, with the receipts attached

$99 a month for a seat · we take 30%

Admission is by review and we do decline — being declined costs nothing and touches nothing you hold. What makes a deal here different is what the buyer reads before paying: the witnessed history, the dossier, the tasting, the three valuations with their arithmetic shown. Provenance is the product.

The four anchors

“Timestamped” is a word people use loosely. Here it means four independent attestations of the same hash, each of which would have to be defeated separately — and three of them involve somebody other than us.

The Seal

An Ed25519 signature from the Witness key. Establishes that we observed exactly this. Our public half is published, so anyone can check it without asking us.

The Authority

An RFC 3161 token from an independent time authority, backed by a public certificate chain. A third party with no stake in your work agrees on the hour.

The Chain

An OpenTimestamps commitment, aggregated into a Bitcoin block. Once mined, it is beyond anyone’s reach — including ours.

The Log

Inclusion in our public append-only log, whose signed roots are published hourly. Proves not only when, but in what order — and makes any later edit to history detectable.

Plainly

We are a registrar, not a law firm. A dossier determines nothing and a tasting certifies nothing — one is a careful reading and the other is a taste. What we can prove is what existed, and when, and that is worth more than a document that overstates itself. The whole of what we will and won’t claim is written down.
